Default So I'm bored

Well I have three campaigns, i never finished any of them cause i get bored half way through.

I feel that by level 20 I have max armor and most spells i need and weapons.
PvP is fun but gets boring without a guild and I dont intend to enter one, i dont have time for drama.

anyways why do ppl still play the game? what do u work for?

If you need to keep getting more powerful as you play, GW isn't your game. It's really that simple. That said, people play for the storyline/content, to get titles, get cool stuff, fill their HoM, and PvP, among other things.

The game is called GUILD WARS, and, to be honest, if you don't at least try to get the full experience by joining a decent/good guild, you're not getting the most from the game. If you get drama, click off that guild chat/alliance chat for a while.

Otherwise, if you like grinding, get some titles. If you like PvP, keep trying to break into that scene (kinda hard without a guild). Otherwise, GW might not be the game for you.

If you're not a story line type of guy, then a lot of GW will pass you by, since it's a story driven game.
The aim isn't to get high level or epic equipment, as as you've noted you have max armor, and most skills, so that aspect of the game has been pretty much reached.

I can't speak for everyone, but only for myself, and from observation.

What keeps someone playing this game for 4-5 years?
There's the story to experience, but we've touched on that.
There's the company. Many players have a thriving guild life, and enjoy doing things for the fun of playing with like minded people. Not all of them are embedded in drama, although that's not to say there aren't a fair few that are full of it

There's the various titles to aim for, and these are quite varied, from completing campaigns, killing all monsters, completing high end areas, right down to using 10,000 of a certain consumable type. Horses for courses

There's also the personal goals. Get all the elite armors; Amass large quantities of gold and overpriced weapons; Complete elite areas with a team of only one profession type; farm random drops on the hope that one day Nicholas will give you a moss spider egg

Really it comes down to personal play style. Outside of the main story arc GW becomes rather sandbox-like. ArenaNet give you the tools and then lets you get on with it.

If you're one of these players who need those distant, clearly defined goals to aim toward, then this may not be the game for you. People are different and like different types of things

Getting max armor and all the skills you need to play the game in pve is literally just scratching the surface. The idea behind guildwars was to remove the high level cap associated with most games of that style in order to encourage people to play through the rest of the game.

By not completing the storyline you're missing out on titles, elite areas, challenge missions, dungeons, mini games, rare weapons and armors, a huge chunk of the lore, practically everything that would gain you the majority of stuff in the hom including titles, unique pets, hero armour etc, hard mode, the majority of the game really.

Guildwars was designed to allow you to gain the max armor and weapon ratings without too much effort so you could concentrate on creating the builds and team groups necessary to tackle the challenges the game presents.

If you reach the max armor and do a little pve and that kinda does it for you then cool, it was made for that too. You're not paying a fee after you buy the game so you're only losing what you don't set out to experience.

The official wiki at wiki.guildwars.com has a tonne of links from the front page linking to every aspect of the game and you can search pretty much everything else.

If you're interested in grouping with people to complete the more challenging areas or learn how to do something like farming or elite areas, join a guild that will help you.

If the game still doesn't broaden your horizons, then there's tonnes of other games out there, but really, with what you've describred, you're really just scratching the surface.

Edit: Oh yeah and there's the Zaishen Menagerie to collect ranger pets, the Zaishen Daily quests, War in Kryta and the rest of guild Wars Beyond, the bonus mission pack, Nicholas the traveller, regular seasonal celebrations...

Oh there's a big scavenger hunt going all over the game world to acquire the black moa chick miniature. There's common armour which is actually pretty hard to get, like bandanas, blindfolds, gauntlets, spectacles, woads etc.

Oh then there's the vast lore and everything that relates to in the real world and real-world history and fables etc. I'm sure I've left lots of stuff out

You and I are probably similar.

If you only like playing games with a good story you will play it, leveling is your strong suit and you don't like repetitive plays.

Am I right?

The reason people still play this game they have different goals in the game. Once they finish one they go for the other.

I like games with a continuous different story line. I never watch the same show or play the same game more than twice.

I do not work at anything in the game I play it because I enjoy it and because I currently do not have another game I enjoy as much.

My sole object right now is to get vabbian armour so am doing anything that pulls in gold to complete that task.

I will work on titles that amuse me at the time I do them.

I will follow the war in kryta quests and any other new content.

Do zaishen quests to get rewards and ditto Nicholas the traveller quests.

Wait for gw2

If you could complete one game it would open up hard mode which you might find more of a challenge.
Factions is probably the easiest and fastest.

Otherwise find a new game if this one doesn't keep you interested enough to finish even one of them why suffer.

I have a full time job and family (being 40+), so I don't get a lot of "me" time; however, when I do, GW satisfies as I am able to play a bit with or without my friends (when they have some spare "me" time for themselves) without a huge time commitment. Being so casual a player, I do miss out on the ability to really grind for titles and other stuff like that, but that's something that I've come to accept. And with no recurring charge, it is a very inexpensive part-time hobby.

I enjoy the storylines, particularly WiK, but my problem is that the farther along I get, the longer the missions seem to take so I pretty much top-out mid-story.

But if I didn't enjoy it, I'd quit playing.
